The class I am taking right now required two books which I bought used through Amazon. I am a little behind on my reading (RamCT had a major meltdown right before classes started) so I was really hoping my book would be in the mail today. I was happy to find it crammed in our mailbox after work and opened it up only to find that the first page was #21 - the whole first chapter was missing. I really don't have the time to send it back, so here's hoping that the first chapter wasn't all that important anyway :) I guess that's what you can expect when buying a used book on the Internet for $4.00 -

Hoping Chapter One Lacks Significance

funny thing about first chapters- the good ones usually set up the rest of the book! check the back to make sure you have the conclusion!
Don't worry about it, I usually only read the even chapters anyways... look how far it got me!
I don't know...all the good books have great first chapters. Remember these?
"Call me Ishmael."
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." and
"In the beginning was the Word."??
Oh Crap - So many confusing viewpoints - Well, I am about ready to take my first quiz over chapters 1-3 so I'll let you know how it oges :)
Chapter? What's a chapter?
Becca, I know how you feel. Not about the missing first chapter. But your kindred spirit is taking online classes too and buying books from amazon that are later crammed into small mailboxes! I am taking 3 classes this semester. give me that degree.
