Bridesmaid Dress... Check!

This is what a bride and her M.O.H. looks like when they have finally decided on a bridesmaid dress... It was not an easy decision to make. For anyone who has been there before, there is a lot to take into account. But it is black, long, classy, and formal. I'm scared to post a pic b/c I don't want the general public to know everything about my wedding before they see it. But I guess the 7 people who read this blog are immediately involved in the wedding. So, I will link you to it! http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_detail.jsp?stid=2333&prodgroup=110

Jordan and his "Ah-ckey"

I would like to dedicate this blog to my dear fiance, Jordan Duvall. Tonight he is covering the Colorado State Rams Club Hockey team. When I say "covering" i mean he is doing the play-by-play radio coverage! This is his first-ever live coverage... He has been SO busy lately with hockey.
1. He sent out his Hockey Packet (audition tape) to the Arizona Sundogs
2. Has been writing articles for the Collegian covering all the Colorado Eagles Games
3. First live coverage tonight! Another one tomorrow night...

He is going to hate me for bragging about him, but I am just really proud of him. When we met way back when-in high school- the first thing i ever remember him telling me was that he was going to do play-by-play on the radio someday. Four, five, six years later, that is exactly what he is doing! He has really stuck to his guns and is working so hard!

YEA! Here's my shout-out to you!

P.S. It turns out I am the only kid that never learned "Ricky-Ticky-Tumbo" . Sorry for the confusion :)

Advanced Public Speaking

Jordan and I are both enrolled in Avanced Public Speaking! Yahoo! Anyway, our first assignment is to tell a fairy tale in our own words including facial expression, gestures, and character voices... Using no notes, and conforming to a 3-4 min. time limit. Ok, this is super, no prob. Only problem is the 3-4 min. time limit. I am here in my room and I keep telling myself "The Little Mermaid" but it keeps taking me like 6 minutes! I'm gonna have to cut something out!

Jordan is doing some, "Ricky-Ticky Tumbo, No Sir Umbo" story that I've never heard in my life! But, Jordan is the king of speech class, so he will be just fine, i know it!

Forever Romance...

Forever Romance is my new favorite smell... I first got a whiff when my roommate Chyrise sprayed it, and i just knew i had to have it! To be honest it smells like fruit snacks. Or if you are familiar with the other Vicky's Secret fragrances it is similar to Love Spell. It was 3/$24 or 5/$30 so, I got the body splash, the body lotion, and of course the BUBBLE BATH! I should have splurged the extra six buck-a-roos and got the body butter and the shower gel, but for once, I demonstrated a little restraint!

Las Vegas! Part Deux

To make things simple, I am going to zip right through what we did all weekend! This is Melissa slot-machining and sippin' on a strawberry daquiri...mmmmmm tasty!

We walked around ALL day... Melissa, Cindy, April, Kate, and Me outside of Paris.

The Dueling pianos, they really knocked my socks off!
we took a break from the pianos to gamble a little (mostly for the free drink) $5 in machine = $62.50 out of the machine and in my pocket!!
Ok, now this is worth talking about- CLUB PURE WOW! this was for sure one of the most different experiences of my life. This place is posh, and fancy, and well, nothing I'm used to! We were expecting a dance club but his place was crazy. We were totally out of place here in our blue jeans and covered torsos, in between sips of my $12 cranberry and vodka I kept saying, "this sucks". It was VIP everything, the nicest of everything, tons of people...Brooke Burke was there, and so was this guy...
If you don't recognize him, don't worry, neither did April or Melissa. But since I am a boy band aficionado I clearly knew that this was Trevor from the first Making the Band group, O-Town! So, that was pretty cool! To avoid the hoards of people downstairs we went to the balcony. There was a DJ but no one dancing so what else were we expected to do but start our own dance party! So, feeling completely out of place, but making the most of it, we did just that! IT WAS AWESOME! By the end of the night, we were feeling cooler than we had ever felt in our lives and I took back my "this sucks" comment!
This was the bathroom of Club Pure, the nicest bathroom I've ever seen... there was lotion, perfume, candy, mouthwash, deodorant, and even cigarettes velcroed to the mirror. AMAZING.
The shiny horse at the Bellagio, where Melissa and I vowed to stay at next time!
Last, we went to the top of the Eiffel Tower at Paris.. LAs Vegas at night!

All in all, I had an amazing adventure with my buddy Melissa, loved Vegas, will bring better shoes next time, and will remember to get all cab info before getting out, in case of a missing purse!

VIVA LAS VEGAS! Part One

WOW-I-ZOWIE!! We had SO much fun in Vegas! We spent three nights there but it felt like a whole week, because we got to do so many things!!

This picture is of me and Melissa at the airport (Fort Collins Airport). We flew Allegiant Air, which by the way, does nor offer "complimentary beverages" anymore... We were utterly shocked when the Flight Attendant gave us our Pepsi and said , "that'll be two dollars" WE WERE OUTRAGED!

I think this picture is out of chronological order, but I can't remember where it goes! I do remember that this was the first gambling Mel and I did... three dollars in, no money out.

Once we nearly died in the cab ride to our hotel, The Carriage House (not on the strip), we all got ready to go out to a nice dinner to celebrate Cindy's birthday. (Cindy is the roommate of April, Melissa's sister) We all wanted to be in the pic, so we made it happen! Its me, April, Melissa. Those are some TALL girls!!

Well, that was night #one... After dinner we went to the Imperial Palace, with the intention of going out to a club or something... We stepped out of the cab and not three minutes later, Melissa realized she left her purse in the cab!!! It had everything in it: Phone, money, Credit Cards, Driver's Licence, Kleenex, and two forms of Chap-Stick! So, she panicked for a minute (sorry no pics, i thought it would be insensitive to be taking photos of this) Long story short, we got to wave at the police in the hidden ceiling camera, and within an hour, Melissa had her purse back!! Thank you LVPD!!!!! That concludes LAS VEGAS! Part one, please stay tuned for LAS VEGAS! Part Deux!

Vegas Here We Come!!

Melissa and I at the Counting Crows concert! (did I mention it was free!) Hey, now that I think about it, we ditched class to get those free tickets, just like were ditching class to go to VEGAS... Melissa may be a bad influence on me!

Yes it's the first week of school. Yes, I'm going to Vegas! Melissa and I bought tickets back in October for this excursion, and it sort of snuck up on us! We leave tomorrow and will be back on Monday!

I've never technically been to Las Vegas, I've stopped by once, long story. Believe me there will be many pictures taken, and many pictures posted! I am really excited for this! I am SO excited to get to spend some time with one of my best friends in the whole world!

For anyone reading this that is in school. I don't condone ditching... the thing you have to figure out is when is an appropriate time to ditch. First week of school= fine and dandy (teachers haven't gotten to the important stuff yet) Finals week=bad idea all together.

Have a great weekend everyone! Thank you Whitney for having dinner with me tonight. I am happy to report that Whitney had a chicken sandwich and kept it down! as far as I know!

ATTN: WHITNEY!!

Whitney! I got your message and thought it would be fun to respond by Blog! Thank you for your well-wishes with school... Did you have to work on this Martin Luther King Jr. day?

My answer for Thursday night is a big fat YES! I do have to work until 7:00 pm though. Does that work for you to eat dinner after that? I sure hope so, because i would LOVE to see you!

I have to go to bed now! goodnight everyone, and have an even better tomorrow!

Back-To-School!

Tomorrow is our first day back to CSU after Winter Break! For Jordan, this is his LAST semester EVER!!! How exciting... For me, it is my last semester before becoming a wife, not my last semester ever though... I will have another year after this one! I always love the first couple of weeks back, because I am jazzed and motivated, and excited to be here (and i keep up on all the readings)! However, Spring semester is harder I think for most students because mid-way through, the weather starts getting nicer and the motivation you had the first couple weeks is now gone and replaced by the need to be outside.

Side-note: I'm so glad I don't live in the dorms anymore, so I don't have to see all the nasty girls (mostly sorority girls, its not a generalization, just a fact.) sunbathing on any day that it is 60 degrees or higher, in nothing but their dental floss bikinis...

This is Willard O. Eddy Hall or "Eddy" where most of the Communication classes are! this becomes a Speech/Communication majors home.

This is the Lagoon and the Lory Student Center... Bring back memories Jody? This the reason class attendence goes down drastically in the last half of Spring Smester...its just so stinkin' beautiful!

GOOO BRONCOS!!!!!

Yesterday and today have been fun-filled days of FOOTBALL! I'm really jazzed that the BRONCOS stopped the Patriots from taking over the world... and even better is that we don't have to play the Colts next! Broncos vs. Steelers! Sadly, I will be in LAS VEGAS during this really exciting game, who knows, maybe I'll go find a place to bet on it!

I am so happy for Bradlee...What a great first year for him! You know, Jake Plummer didn't start doing the goofy hair thing until Bradlee was around. I think we all know who the leader of this team is! BVP FOREVA! (I know most people think that Bradlee is a macho, cocky, son of a ----. But, I love what he did for CSU and what he is doing with the Broncs! Plus he came and visited us in the dorms and was cooler that cool!)

My Mom, The Super Hero

Last weekend when i was home, I left a bunch of things by accident, including my brand new fleece ! But when my mom offered to send it to me by mail, I said, nah! I can live without it until i come home again. Well, yesterday and today i was really wishing i had it. Lo and behold there was a package on my doorstep today, and out popped my FLEECE!!! Also, my new scarf, and the Chronicles of Narnia books! Mom you read my mind! THANK YOU for knowing better than to listen to me ! I love you!!!!

The Memories of Valentine's Day Past...

I dug out my "V Day" paraphanalia today! First i have the Conversation Heart Pillow (it glows in the dark) that i bought myself when i was 16, this is roughly when my infatuation began... Then I found the pink fleece throw that Jim and Jill gave me my freshman year of college. I took MANY good college nap-a-roos with that blanket. (Chicago had a matching one and we would watch Oprah and then fall asleep on the floors of Corbett Hall) And then one of three heart-shaped pillows my Mom sent me last year in a "V Day" care package. I think i need to expand my Valentine's Day color pallet to include more red...I also think i may need the help of a professional.

Is there anyone in America happy for them?

There might be someone happy for them but it sure as heck isn't me!! I am trying to figure out what to write next but all i can think of is expletive-laced sentences that are not blog-appropriate. So, I hate you Angelina, I love you Jenny A. and i hope you and Vince Vaughn have cute little funny babies...

Rubber Ducky, You're The One...

I love the bathtub. Plain and simple. This may be some sort of addiction, I'm not sure. But when i come home from work, or if i am the least bit cold i don't grab a blanket or relax in front of the T.V., no no, I hop in the bath tub! I have done this three nights in a row...
The moment my little popsicle of a toe hits the water, all the wackos i deal with in a day (including my boss) are completely forgotten about...

So, Jordan... when we start looking for a house, i don't need anything but this. A heart-shaped bathtub next to a roaring fireplace, peeking out onto the snow-capped pine trees... I really am quite easy to please :)

38 More Shopping Days Left!!!

It's offically Valentine's Season, and there are 38 more days left for shopping for, hating, or whatever else you choose to do in the Spitirt of Valentine's Season. I was at Starbucks two days ago and was stopped dead in my tracks when i found this.....

My first Valentine's Day display of the year! The barista asked twice if they could get a drink started for me and i said Whoa! No! I'm definatly not ready to order... I dont know what it is but when the stores start carrying this stuff, I go nuts and lose all sense time and money and well, all my sense. I love it and this will be the first of many Valentine themed entries.. Sorry for those who hate this holiday, LOVE isnt just about romance. ok, i better stop. Bye everyone and happy Valentine's Season!

New Years 2006!!!!!!!

I was lucky enough this year to have my brother visiting me for New Years!!! So Jordan, Todd, and myself , joined Jody and Whitney along with several of Jody's work buddies for a SUPER dinner and then headed to the world famous "Tailgate Tommy's"... In Old Town we met up with Tom and Brian (jordie's housemates) and then proceeded to fit everyone in a cab to go home... Yes, everyone 7 adult-sized people in one cab! The cab driver said she had fit 12 in there once. She is a liar. Well, 2006 was definatly kicked off in a decent fashion...Next year we need to be invited to one of these "private parties" that all the bars were closed for.

I was just voted "Worst Blogger" of 2005...

Holy toledo! I'm so sorry that i have not been blogging. I have been super busy, with holidays, visitors, family, birthdays, work, etc... Anywho, IM BACK! I am posting some more holiday pics to wrap up last year and then will focus my blogging attention to the more recent happenings. Im such a jerk.

The top picture is one of myself, my cousin Lindsey, Jordan, Lindsey's boyfriend Garrett, my cousin Tanner, and my brother Todd. We were at The India House in Denver. My Aunt Merna was SO nice to give all of us gift certificates there so we could all spend time with one another. What a generous gift! Thank you thank you thank you! The food was great, the company was great... and it was a pretty hysterical night on the whole!

The second pic was on Christmas day after we got to Estes Park. This is at my Papa's (grandpa) house. Before this I was at the Duvalls which was so much fun. We opened presents, ate, played games...THE WORKS! I had a super busy Christmas, but it was amazing to be able to spend it with all of the people i love the very most in this world! I am truly blessed.
